Ella Downey, Loveworks Child Care Center Shelburne Road Director
Ella has been a member of the Loveworks, Shelburne Road team since February 2015. She has experience working with infants through five year olds, and mostly as a teacher with the preschool age children. Over the past few years Ella has been working towards obtaining Lead Teacher Credentials and has taken many college level courses in Early Childhood Education. She traces her inspiration behind her passion for working with and teaching children to the way her parents raised her and their love for children. She grew up with a strong desire to care for others and that aspiration blossomed as she began taking classes in the field of Early Childhood Education which she then turned into her career.
Ella grew up in Hinesburg, Vermont, in a home that her father built. She loves all animals and has two dogs of her own. Ella once created and offered a conference for mothers and daughters to attend on the topic of enhancing communication around the subject of girl’s body image. At this conference she ran three different workshops that were all well attended and through this generous work, helped to increase the bond between mothers and daughters. Ella enjoys hiking, reading, and listening to podcasts.
Our Loveworks Child Care Center teachers are experienced and kind; most are state-certified with degrees in Elementary or Early Childhood Education. Teachers differentiate instruction to meet the distinctive learning needs of each child and they guide children to recognize their unique potential, while maintaining a compassionate approach. Within small classes, teachers strive to model exemplary character and curiosity, spark each child’s interest in learning and help each child to be successful as she or he navigates the world.
