Meet the Loveworks Montpelier Faculty

The teaching faculty at Loveworks Childcare Center in Montpelier have earned a degree in early or elementary education with many holding a Vermont Teaching License and/or have comparable educational training and experience. Throughout the year, teachers and directors participate in professional development programs, both on and off-site, aimed at expanding and improving their teaching skills and enhancing the mission of our Schools. We are dedicated to providing a program based on quality and consistency in all of the schools. All of our faculty and staff are asked to embrace a heartful and peaceful approach with children and to uphold the philosophies of the school.

Desiree Currier
Director and Teacher

Desiree holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Champlain College. She interned at Heartworks Preschool while in college and fell in love with the Heartworks philosophy. Desiree has over twenty-two years’ teaching experience in Early Childhood Education. She taught at Heartworks Burlington and Heartworks Williston for six years before opening her own daycare, which she ran for four years before coming to Loveworks as the School Director and Infant Teacher. 

Danielle Huston
Assistant Director and Teacher

Danielle holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wheaton College and a Master’s Degree in Education from Goddard College. She has more than thirteen years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Danielle is passionate about therapeutic art and holistic wellness. From 2003-2004, Danielle volunteered for Americorps VISTA, specializing in community outreach. Danielle is the Assistant Director and Preschool Teacher at Loveworks in Montpelier. 

Robin Pennington
Assistant Teacher

Robin is the Assistant Infant Teacher at Loveworks Montpelier. Robin is a native Vermonter, and is an engaging and passionate teacher of young children. Robin holds a Childhood Development Associate certificate, and is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has over ten years of experience in infant care.

Samantha Knudsen
Teacher

Sam is a native Vermonter, with over three years of direct teaching experience in the local community.  Sam has a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Granite State College.  Sam is currently the Lead Teacher for the One Year Old Class at Loveworks Montpelier. Sam has also been a coach for local athletic teams and enjoys playing sports.

                                                     

Rebecca Cushman
Assistant Teacher

Rebecca has over ten years of  experience with children, and is enthusiastic about being back in Vermont.  Rebecca  has been a Teaching Assistant for over five years, and has been a Camp Counselor providing leadership and guidance to campers while enjoying the outside environment. Rebecca is the Assistant Teacher for the One Year Old Class at Loveworks Montpelier.

Lisa Gaudreault
Teacher

Lisa is the Two Year Old Teacher at Loveworks in Montpelier. Lisa has worked in Early Childhood Education for nearly twenty years. Lisa had been a Preschool and Toddler Teacher in Montpelier since 1998, and had worked in restaurant management for eighteen years before that. Lisa is currently enrolled in an Early Education program at the Community College of Vermont.

April Smith
Support Teacher

April is currently a senior at Spaulding High School, in the Central Vermont Career Center’s Cooperative Education Program where she is able to gain on the job experience.

Cheyenne Sebold
Support Teacher

Cheyenne has seven years of experience working with children. She studied Human Services with CVCC’s Cooperative Education Program, and interned as a Teacher’s Assistant at Union Elementary School for two years.
